PACIFIC RADIO GROUP HOLIDAY JOB FAIR

HOLIDAY JOB FAIR FEATURES 70 MAUI BUSINESSES

70 businesses will be searching for qualified employees at Pacific Radio Group’s Holiday Job Fair happening this Saturday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Queen Kaahumanu Center in Kahului.

One of the many exciting jobs now available on Maui is the tour guide position at Maui Land & Pineapple Company’s new Kapalua Mountain Adventures. The new, fun, and educational attraction is based on the ecology, history and culture of Kapalua.

Also on the West side, the Ritz Carlton Kapalua is looking for employees to staff the resort as work nears completion on a multi-million dollar renovation project. And bookstore Barnes & Noble will be in need of a staff for a new location scheduled to open in Lahaina later this year.

What do you get when you add red, white and blue to yellow? A Hot Dog On A Stick uniform. Try one on for size as the Queen Kaahumanu Center’s newest eatery looks for hires.

And step into the world of radio as our own Pacific Radio Group seeks account executives and interns for the company’s promotions department.

Event organizer and Pacific Radio Group account executive Charly Espina Takahama attributes the strong employer participation to a consistently low unemployment rate.

Statistics from the State Labor Department indicate that Hawaii’s unemployment rate was 2.6% in August—marking the 32nd consecutive month that Hawaii’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has been below 3 percent. The state’s unemployment rate is also well below the national rate of 4.6%. The non-seasonally adjusted rates on Lanai, Maui Island and Molokai were 1.2, 3.0 and 5.9 percent respectively.

Takahama said, “The time is right to find a job with many companies offering career advancement and attractive financial options.”

Saturday’s Kahului job fair is the second of two that Pacific Radio Group and the Queen Kaahumanu Center sponsors each year. The first is designed to find summer hires; the second one is for holiday hires.
