X92.5 WHERE MAUI ROCKS!

X marks the spot Where Maui Rocks! That’s where you’ll find Pacific Radio Group’s newest station, X92.5 FM.

"This Modern Rock format will appeal to alternative and classic fans alike," said Program Director Dan Rivers. "It’s an ideal place for the demographic that is familiar with featured artists like Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers & Nine Inch Nails; but still wants to get a fix of their favorites from Aerosmith, ZZ Top & Led Zepplin" said Rivers.

Anchoring the afternoon-drive from 3-7 p.m. on weekdays is veteran rock radio personality Joe "Jo Jo" Pospisil. The long-time Maui resident has worked in Seattle and Houston as a morning air personality earlier in his career. Rivers said, "Jo Jo’s knowledge of the format and familiarity with the Maui community will be an asset to the station."

X92.5 FM also features a number of interactive elements through live radio contests and an all new, X925.fm website. An X-Files feature allows listeners to blog comments about their lifestyle, music and other interests. A Triple-X Fantasy feature gives listeners a chance to get three of their favorite songs played back to back. And a Love-Your-X fan club gives loyal listeners the inside information on exclusive contests and events.

X92.5 FM can also be heard on its West-Side transmitter frequency located at 101.7 FM on the radio dial. The alternate frequency was established to better serve harder to reach areas like Lahaina and Honokowai that are blocked by the West Maui Mountains.

The X92.5 FM frequency was acquired in exchange for the new frequency. The license for Maui’s KLHI 101.1 FM is being transferred to another owner, and will be broadcasting from Waianae, Oahu.

Pacific Radio Group CEO, Chuck Bergson said, "The deal allows Pacific Radio Group to eliminate a new competing frequency by acquiring the X92.5 FM signal."

The new addition of X92.5 FM brings to six the total number of stations owned and operated by Pacific Radio Group on Maui, in addition to eight stations on the Big Island. Pacific Radio Group’s Maui stations are: KPOA 93.5 FM, Da JAM KJMD 98.3 FM,
